For ages I have wanted to visit the village of Portmeirion, home of the cult 1960s show ‘The Prisoner’ one of my favourite TV series. So today we decided to take a day trip. Clough Williams-Ellis famously built the village between 1926 and 1975 on his own private peninsula in order to criticise modern architecture. The village is somewhat deceiving and for a moment you think am I in the Mediterranean?
Being a photographer I couldn’t help but spot a hundred locations I wanted to shoot and I will return one day with some models to do just that. Portmeirion Village is indeed a wonderful spot. If you have not yet watched the prisoner I have popped a youtube clip below from one of my favourite episodes ‘Many Happy Returns‘.
